More nonsense from the American Heart Association

If you’re wondering about the latest “report” from the American Heart Association bashing coconut oil, you’re not alone.

In fact, I got quite a few questions from readers about this.

I’ll get right to the point: Is coconut oil bad for you?

No. Actually, quite the opposite…

To put this in context, the AHA has been singing the same off-key song since the 1960’s. Saturated fats are “bad” because they raise LDL cholesterol.

Now the AHA believes saturated fats should be replaced with polyunsaturated fats… like margarine and vegetable oils.

Look, olive oil is great for you, but you don’t get everything you need from just one oil.

I don’t know how the AHA reaches conclusions like this.

Actually, I do.

By ignoring mountains of evidence that says saturated fat is not the cause of heart disease and death.

If you go back and really look at some of the old studies the AHA tries to trot out (which some researchers have done) you’ll find that while polyunsaturated fats did lower cholesterol… it didn’t result in improved health at all.

Actually, the research showed that the lower the cholesterol, the higher the overall risk of dying… oops.

This is especially scary when you realize doctors are passing out statin drugs like jujubes.

But why bash coconut oil in particular? The AHA doesn’t like it because of the high saturated fat content. They’re so very wrong on this.

Look, it’s been shown many times over that virgin coconut oil is a superfood.

It contains polyphenols that reduce inflammation, actually protect your heart, fight free radicals, even inhibit tumor growth.

Coconut oil is one of the few foods with promise to actually fight back against Alzheimer’s.

Plus, it contains lauric acid, which doesn’t make you gain weight… no, try lose weight instead.

I don’t know why the AHA is so backwards or off base. Draw your own conclusions.

But if you’re scared by garbage headlines that urge you to throw out your coconut oil… throw away the newspaper instead.

Now, you should be careful to use high quality coconut oil with high medium chain triglyceride content. That’s the good stuff.

Generally speaking, if it’s “virgin” coconut oil, you’ve got something you want.

And please don’t let anyone tell you again that margarine is a health food.

P.S. Coconut oil isn’t the only oil that has remarkable powers. My new Patriot Flex has a blend of powerful warming and cooling ingredients… but one in particular really has me excited.

Do you know what clove oil can do for aching muscles and joints? Doctors didn’t until recently… get the full story here.
